Both players need a Golf Australia (GA) handicap between 10 and 36. Below 10 is too good for this league, and above 36 is capped at 36. On match day both teams enter all four handicaps in the app, straight from the GA app, and the match starts once the two entries agree.

2v2 Scramble (Ambrose), scored as match play. Both players tee off every hole, your team picks the best ball, and both play from there. Net scores determine who wins each hole. Full 18 holes are always played because hole differential matters for league standings. Each player's tee shot has to be used at least six times, and the app keeps count.

Each player pays their own green fees at the course. Your BGL entry covers the season, app, and prizes. Green fees are not included. Away teams may be able to score member rates from the home team.

Every round has a deadline, the end of its month, and you have the whole month to get the match played. Agree a day and a course with your opponents in the match chat, then the home team locks the date in the app. Every message in the chat also lands in the other team's inbox, and everyone gets a push the day before the match.

Sort it early by using your substitute or agreeing a new date with your opponents before the round deadline, and if you need more time, ask BGL admin through the app and we can grant one extension per match. If one team is the one blocking the match, they forfeit it.

The other team gets the win and the 3 points. Either team can forfeit in the app, before the match or mid-round if it has to stop. BGL admin then sets the hole result by hand, in line with a normal round, and the match stays off the ladder until that's done. If your opponents don't turn up, hit No Show in the app and we'll investigate before anything is recorded.

Each team gets one substitute per season, not one per match. Your sub doesn't need an account and doesn't need to be pre-registered. Add their name and GA handicap (10 to 36) in the app on match day, before handicaps go in. The registered teammate handles the scoring.

Scoring runs live in the app, hole by hole, where both teams enter every hole and the app checks the two entries against each other as you go. If they don't match, both teams get asked to re-enter, and if you still can't agree, it goes to BGL admin as a dispute. At the end both teams confirm the result and vote for the MVP and Biggest Battler from the other side. If the app drops out, keep a paper card and send a manual score report through the app afterwards.

Hit Emergency Exit in the app, which stops the match with the score as it stands so BGL admin can sort the result. If both teams would rather replay it, either team can reschedule from the app: the scores are wiped and the match goes back to scheduling, still inside the round deadline.

The top 4 teams after six rounds make the finals in month 7. Semi-finals are 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd, the higher seed at home, and the two winners play the final. Finals can't be drawn: a tie after 18 goes to sudden death holes, and if the course can't fit extra holes, a back-nine countback decides it.

No age limit. If you hold a valid Golf Australia handicap between 10 and 36, you're eligible. Whether you're 18 or 80, the league is open to you.

The grand prize is a luxury interstate golf trip for the winning team (flights, accommodation, green fees, food and drinks). Throughout the season there are also gear prizes, random draws, MVP awards, Biggest Battler awards, highlight prizes, and clean sheet awards.

One person registers the team (the captain). Confirm that both players have a GA handicap between 10 and 36, pay the $314 team entry, and you're in. You'll add your teammate and pick a team name in the app after you sign in.

We take this seriously. Every player's name and handicap is cross-referenced against their GolfLink number, and handicaps are verified prior to each match. We encourage you to ask your opponents to show their official GA handicap on the day. Golf Australia's handicapping system also has built-in measures that limit aggressive sandbagging. League integrity is our top priority, and we'll continue building tighter systems to keep it fair.

Either team can instead reschedule from the app, which wipes the scores and returns the match to scheduling. A rescheduled match must still be played within the round deadline or an admin-granted extension.
