Refund Policy

Overview
We want every team in the Battler Golf League to have a great experience. We understand that circumstances change, so we have outlined our refund policy below.
Before Fixture Generation
If you need to withdraw from the league before fixtures have been generated for your season, you may request a full refund for a valid reason, including but not limited to:
- Injury or illness preventing participation
- Relocation interstate or overseas
- Inability to find a replacement teammate
- Significant change in personal circumstances
To request a refund at this stage, email us at hello@thebgl.com.au with your team name, order number, and the reason for your withdrawal. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 15 business days.
After Fixture Generation
Once fixtures have been generated and the season schedule is live, your team has been locked into the bracket and opponents have been assigned based on your participation. Withdrawing at this stage directly impacts other teams and the integrity of the league.
Refunds after fixture generation will only be considered in exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Serious injury or medical emergency (documentation may be required)
- Bereavement or significant family emergency
- Both team members being unable to participate for the remainder of the season
These requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please email hello@thebgl.com.au and we will work with you to find a fair resolution.
Handicap & Eligibility Declaration
By registering, you confirm that both players on your team hold an Official Golf Australia Handicap and GolfLink Number, and that both handicaps fall between 10 and 36.
If this is found to be false after registration, your entry may be cancelled and no refund will be issued. BGL reserves the right to verify player identities and handicaps against Golf Australia records at any time during the season.
No Refunds
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Change of mind after fixture generation
- Dissatisfaction with match results or opponent behaviour (use the dispute resolution process in the BGL App)
- Failure to schedule or play matches within the required monthly window
- Green fees, travel, or any costs outside of the BGL entry fee
- Registering without a valid Golf Australia Handicap and GolfLink Number, or with a handicap outside the 10–36 range
Season Cancellation by BGL
If BGL cancels a season for any reason (e.g. insufficient teams, force majeure), all registered teams will receive a full refund. If a season is partially completed before cancellation, refunds will be assessed proportionally.
Merch Pack
Your BGL merch pack (tees, ball marker, stubby holder) is included in the entry fee and shipped following registration. If you have received your merch pack and are subsequently granted a refund, we may deduct the cost of the merch pack from your refund amount.
Processing
All refunds are processed via Shopify Payments to the original payment method. Please allow up to 15 business days for the refund to appear on your statement. You will receive an email confirmation when your refund has been processed.
